About Our President
Jhordan Military Gear was developed in 2009, as a division of Jhordan Medical Supply, LLC by William Matthiew who wanted to find a way of serve the community.
William Matthiew began working in the medical industry over 37 years ago. While still in high school, he worked part-time
as a nursing assistant at the local County Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Upon high school graduation, he joined the
United States Air Force as Medical Service Specialist and was trained to work in all aspects of the hospital and outpatient clinics.
Mr. Matthiew gained valuable work experience in all fields of medicine and emergency services, as well as numerous outpatient
and specialty units. After serving during the Viet Nam conflict and being honorably discharged as a service-connected veteran
from the Air Force, he went to work for the Veteran’s Administration (VA) Hospital in Tampa as a Nuclear Medicine Technician.
After leaving the VA Hospital and relocating to Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Matthiew began work as a Pharmacy Technician and later
as a Laboratory Medical Technician at local hospitals. Mr. Matthiew then moved back to Tampa and once again began working at the local
VA Hospital as a Mental Health Nursing Assistant. He left the VA Hospital to accept a position at Tampa General Hospital as Mental Health
Specialist. During this time he attended Hillsborough Community College, and later the University of South Florida. He subsequently accepted
an offer for employment as a Mental Health Technician with the local Crisis Center, where he was soon promoted to Manager of the Mental
Health Transportation Division (now TransCare). Mr. Matthiew obtained his Emergency Medical Technician certification and was licensed
by the State of Florida. He went on to complete a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from
Kaplan University. Under his leadership, TransCare’s services expanded greatly and they began providing Basic Life Support Ambulance
Services in 1996. After almost 24 years with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, TransCare Emergency Medical Services, Mr. Matthiew retired
as Senior Vice President of TransCare.

Company Goals and Objective
After retiring from the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, Mr. Matthiew’s dream was to start a company that would offer
something of value to the community, in an area that he has a passion for. He decided to open a medical supply and military equipment company
that could offer quality products at a discount to the community at large. Because he gained much experience in a wide
variety in the US Air Force and the healthcare fields, Mr. Matthiew felt he could serve the medical community in a unique way – he knows
firsthand the need for quality and reliability. He knows there is no substitution for quality, dependability and on
time delivery. It is the goal of Jhordan Military Gear to provide the highest quality products at a sensible price,
and to treat each customer as an individual, focusing on their unique needs.
How the Company was named
Mr. Matthiew named his company after his granddaughter Jhordan. Of Mr. Matthiew’s six grandchildren – four boys and twin girls – Jhordan is the one who demands the most attention, time, love and compassion. Like Jhordan, our customers deserve our time and attention. At Jhordan Military Gear all our customers will receive the respect and attention they require, just as Jhordan does.
